CHANGE OF VENUE FOR THE CONCERTS OF EMERALDS AND MAN MAN IN MADRID

For reasons beyond the control of Primavera Sound and Heart Of Gold the concerts of Emeralds and Man Man programmed this month in Madrid will finally be held in Nasti. The tickets that have been bought in advance until now will still be valid for the concerts.

EMERALDS

Avoiding any kind of label and exploring unknown territories is their raison d’être John Elliot, Steve Hauschildt and Mark Maguire continue to skirting around genres, discretely picking at the least known of music from the seventies and mixing it with noise, ambient, psychedelia, minimalism and analogical electronic music. This is exactly what you can find in the thirty odd self-released tracks on CD-R and cassette that the Cleveland band has produced in the last few years and in their official releases like “Solar Bridge” and “Emeralds”. Without giving up their elusive and restless nature, at the beginning of 2010 the trio released 2010 “Does It Look Like I’m Here”, an album that brings all Brian Eno’s sound research up to date and slips them into a complex knot of free and avant-garde music.

MAN MAN

The Nord Americans Man Man continue running as one of the more extravagant unusual formations of the many born under the heat of pop in the last years. From Philadelphia, this bubbly colourful band – formed by Honus, Pow, Sergei, Chang, T. Moth and Jefferson – takes in the broad-minded experimentation of Capitain Beefheart and ties it to the circus music, the between-wars cabaret and the mists of Tom Waits.
