JENNY LEWIS AND LINDA PERHACS ARE UNABLE TO BE AT PRIMAVERA SOUND
The Asturian artist Nacho Vegas joins Primavera Sound in Barcelona; this last name following all the others that have been announced over the last few weeks completes the recently introduced Heineken Hidden Stage line-up. Peter Hook and The Light (performing “Unknown Pleasures”), The Wedding Present, Hamilton Leithauser, The Pizza Underground and Buzzcocks will be part of the programme together with Oso Leone and Girl Band who will also play in this new venue located in the Parc del Fòrum. Festivalgoers can get a reservation to see these exclusive concerts. These free reservations will be available on each of the days at 5 pm at the information point on the festival site, with one ticket per person per concert. It will not be necessary to get these tickets for the concerts of Oso Leone and Girl Band that will be open to all festivalgoers until full capacity is reached.
Girl Band will open the doors to this hidden stage on Thursday 29th at 5:15 pm, followed by Nacho Vegas presenting his new record “Resituación” at 7:15 pm and later, at 9:30, it will be Peter Hook’s turn (former bass player with Joy Division and New Order) accompanied by his band The Light who will play “Unknown Pleasures” in its entirety, the classic album by the band fronted by the late Ian Curtis
On Friday 30th at 5:15 pm it will be the turn of the Mallorca band Oso Leone and then at 7:15 pm another legendary name, the British band The Wedding Present, one of the most highly respected bands in the history of rock with records such as the much praised “George Best” and “Seamonsters”. Later the Hidden Stage programme will continue with the presentation of the former frontman of The Walkmen, Hamilton Leithauser’s new solo project, the recently released “Black Hours” that he will play at 9:30 pm.
On the third day, Saturday 31st, the space will host The Pizza Underground live at 9:15 pm, one of the most unique bands on the current international scene. Fronted by the actor Macaulay Culkin, the band covers songs by The Velvet Underground and Lou Reed all revolving around the subject of pizza. Finally the Buzzcocks, pioneers of punk sound and authors of essential records such as “Singles Going Steady”, will close the programme of this stage at 11 pm.
On another note, the Americans Linda Perhacs and Jenny Lewis are unable to be at Primavera Sound, the first for health reasons and the second due to the band having internal logistic problems.
